| Welcome to Rhodes Paint Horses of Mound City,
Kansas.
When Angela bought her first Paint Horse in 1986,
little did she know that it would continue to be a lifelong love
affair with the breed! "Chico" was a mistreated, rejected barrel
horse that only know how to run and escape training. Within a couple
of years they were winning top purples in their 4-H Pleasure classes.
She was addicted.
We raised our first baby in 1996, and have been
choosing our broodmares carefully since that time, always looking
to improve on quality. We are proud that our mares are correct
in conformation, straight, balanced, and "pretty" with the right
amount of muscling & correctness for Halter, but conformed
well enough to hold up to a performance career later in life (besides
having the bloodlines to back up their looks). We have hand-picked
these mares and it can be shown that these horses both look good
and move well, and can produce that type of offspring.
With the birth of our son Bradley in 2005, our focus
has shifted slightly and we will be concentrating on raising
World Champion quality Halter horses. While we still believe
in the all-around producing ability of our mare band, we will be
promoting our babies exclusively in the Halter ring and keeping
our numbers small while our family is young – we don’t
want to miss out on these valuable family times!
We hope you enjoy your visit to our home on the
worldwide web and please, if you have any questions or comments,
do not hesitate in contacting us.
